Want to know more about Internet Marketing?

Network Marketing … Online Marketing … Is there a difference?

Things can be so confusing when starting or building an online business or
service …
There is a HUGE difference!

Ultimately it is the way someone chooses to market their product or service.  But let us look a little closer.   Ryan Cody McMorris, an internet marketer with years of experience explained it like this …

NETWORK MARKETING
A network marketer is someone who takes a product or service & markets that product or service through other people’s networks. That means – for example, I know Mary and I would love for her to buy or try this product or service and then when she does have a good experience with that product or service, she can go out and share that product or service with her network and they in turn can go out and share that product or service with their network …
ONLINE MARKETING
This is strictly about sales. No multi-level to it. Moving a product into someone else’s hands and making the sale.
HYBRID MARKETING
This means being an excellent network marketer but knowing how to use the internet and leverage the internet in a way that one can build a network marketing business.
In other words, a network marketer should know how to use the internet effectively to build their business. They need to provide value. They need to reach out to others.
In years gone by, the internet marketer could possibly get away with marketing in one or two specific styles.    Not today anymore!
Successful Marketers today need to be hybrid marketers.  It is necessary to integrate the old and new marketing methods or channels and blend them into an effective dynamic marketing strategy.
To be successful online, you need to learn new skills.  Many of theses skills are easily learnt, particularly if one has access (often at no cost) to excellent training.  This can be done at home in your spare time.

How to get your online business off the ground

One of the most important issues in any business is to get traffic to your site.

Whether you are purely online or you have a brick and mortar business (which also needs an online presence by the way!), we need visitors and customers.   Without these, the business will fail.

In the online world there are many “offers” of traffic – but to be honest, there is a lot of trashy traffic out there and it is a total waste of time and money.   One has to give due diligence when in any kind of business and very especially, an online business.

It is a very good idea, in the first instance, to consider what your marketing objectives are, for example:

  1. Promoting and managing your Brand
  2. Increasing your traffic by targeting the right audience
  3. Engaging with your customers
  4. Building loyalty
  5. Increasing sales

Once you’ve established your objectives, it becomes easier to see what option or options will work best for you.  There is free traffic and paid traffic.   Free Traffic, for example via FaceBook and other social media, takes longer and has to be used very wisely (more about that in a future blog) as one can become guilty of spamming and ruin one’s reputation in the process.  Paid traffic as the name implies requires some investment but does not have to be exorbitant and is also available via FaceBook and other social media as well as other online advertising options.

Social media is an excellent way to expand your reach and network.

There are various platforms one can use to advertise your business – some proven over and over again.  Examples of such are Google, Amazon and My Advertising Pays.

Blogging and providing unique and interesting content can provide value and it is one of the first and most essential steps that should taken towards increasing your traffic,    If it is your own blog, you are free to advertise your business or product on that site at no extra fee.

All these and other options are there to get your business in front of viewers and potential buyers.

I will be sharing more about getting your business off the ground and providing you with helpful guidelines and links to various relevant resources.  In the meantime, make sure you get the updates and subscribe to this blog and link with me on FaceBook

Please Don’t ….

Please don’t!

That is the heading in a post from friends and mentors of mine that caught my eye and the content was 100% my sentiments (and now I’m sharing it with you)

“Please Don’t …

That’s my advice to someone wanting to start an online business and asks the question “where will I find $49?”

(It could be any amount – this just happens to be a frequent starting amount in the online business world)

Their and my answer is brutally honest

We have no idea as we don’t know your financial situation but if you don’t have $49 (roughly £34) to spare, then don’t try and get started with any online business at this point in time.

You have to have money to invest in anything worthwhile.

Making money online is not some get rich quick scheme. It’s a real business which requires investment of time and money.

You may see “rags to riches” stories of people, but they are exceptional and not typical of most people who want to make money online

It is hard work at the beginning, but the rewards further down the line can be amazing … but you have to be committed to do what it takes, even on days you don’t really feel like it.

BUT, if you are prepared for all of this, willing to put in the time, have some financial resources to invest in your business, then the potential is there to develop an online business.

If however you are expecting to “get rich quick” without doing any of the above and you cannot afford to write off your initial investment of $49 then it’s not the right time for you …

And please don’t go chasing shiny objects that promise the earth because they are just shiny objects

Experience tells us that few people succeed in these “shiny object” businesses beyond making a few dollars and most make nothing”.

So I am inviting you today to take action.

If you are seriously thinking of starting to make money online and are committed and coachable, take a few moments to contact me so we can have a chat.   There are a few options available and I would like to help you get started or back on track.

For those who respond, I have a FREE helpful eBook I will send you.

HL Hunt (he was at one time the richest self-made billionaire in the world) was once asked what his secrets of success were: He said “There are only 3 requirements for success.  First, decide exactly what it is you want in life.  Second, determine the price you are going to have to pay to get the things you want and thirdly (and this is most important), resolve to pay that price.”   Successful people are willing to pay the price.   Remember, the massive oak tree was once an acorn.   Start somewhere and work steadily towards your goal.

DO YOU LOVE WAKING UP TO THE SOUND OF THE ALARM CLOCK?

alarmclockIf you are like most people, waking up to the sound of the Alarm Clock can be pure torture (especially on a Monday morning!!).  In fact, we’d prefer to throw it out the window or sell the alarm clock to a neighbour.

Why?

The alarm clock means we have to get up, leave our home and family and rush off to work where a dream-destroying boss is going to drain the life out of us to achieve their dream.    Not only that … it means we have to face the nightmarish commute to work and back – whether by road, rail or whatever. When we arrive back home we are totally exhausted and have time for little else.  The next day … the same thing over again.

Why not start the countdown towards “firing your boss” (as the saying goes!) and work towards starting a new life?    If you do not like what you do, you need to change it.New_MAP_ad

There are a number of opportunities out there, but do your due diligence and make sure you choose the right one.

I have been in the online business for a number of years now and have found something that really works for me.   Why not take a look?

In future blog posts I will be reviewing a few, including the one that has been a God-send and has paid me money every single day since the very first day.

So, if you want to start earning money online part-time until you have earned enough to go fulltime and get rid of the alarm clock syndrome, subscribe to my blog post and make sure you get the next post which will help you take more steps in the right direction.

Speak soon again

FIVE TIPS TO HELP YOU MASTER YOUR EMAIL INBOX

Is your email inbox overflowing and driving you mad?

There surely cannot be a single person on this planet who has an email account that hasn’t had this problem at one time or another (if not all the time!).

Whilst email is a fantastic form of communication, managing your emails can be a pain and kill productivity!  Because we, in this day and age, need email (it is part of normal life) and because we cannot control when someone sends us emails or in what format their messages will come, we have to find a way to “manage” our emails and let email be the powerful tool it is and not something that bogs one down and wastes time.

Here are 5 suggestions how you can manage your inbox:

  1. Unsubscribe from all unnecessary or duplicate emails
How many Newsletters to get coming to your inbox on a daily basis?  If anything like me … plenty!   Do you get to reading them all?   Most likely not!
This is one of the great time-wasters.    . Sifting through promotional emails and unread newsletters kills productivity!  If you’re not reading them, if they are wasting your time, unsubscribe without delay.   Get rid of the clutter!
  2. Turn off the email notifications
Distractions come from all sides, so take control over those you can prevent!
Turn off all email notifications – on your computer as well as your smartphone. We are humans are curious beings and when something flashes or pings, your brain tells you:  “quick, take a look, it may be important”.   Know the feeling.   Turn off those notifications and keep your focus!
  3. Establish a routine for checking emails
Since you won’t be having email notifications distracting you all day long, set aside specific times of day to check your emails.  For example 3 or 5 times per day.   You decide what times will work best for you.   Set aside, for example, 20-30 minutes in the morning, early afternoon & evening to work through the new emails & plan any actions that may be required as a result.
See how that goes and adjust timing as needed and to suit YOU and to help you to be as productive as possible.
  4. Learn to make quick decisions
Having got yourself organized as per the above 3 points, it is important to make quick decisions regarding the emails you receive.  There are basically 4 categories when dealing with email messages:
    – Respond
    – Delete
    – Flag to follow-up
    – File
When using your routine time-frames (as per 3 above), deal with the quick-action emails in the first instance (these usually fall into the File or Delete category). Then move on to emails that require a fraction more of your time – 1-2 minutes.   Lastly, flag emails that need further / more detailed attention. These can be dealt with later when there is a bit more time or schedule them into your “to do” list so that they do not get overlooked.
  5. Use the email system’s rules to make life easier – use them wisely
Using pre-set rules provided in your email system, can save you a lot of time, BUT you need to set it up carefully and wisely.  Examples of such automated actions for in-coming emails include filing, deleting and flagging as well as setting up auto-responders and out-of-office messages, to mention but a few. Experiment with them and see what works best for you.

Obviously, we all have personal preferences and thus it is a case of seeing what system works best for us as individuals.  If you want to get email working for you  and not the other way around, invest  a bit of time and energy in getting your email system sorted.   It will be worth every second you’ll save in the long term (and your sanity too!).

How committed are you?

Some years ago, when I first started my search to establish my own online business  and make a liveable income from it, more than one of my mentors stressed that if I was serious about starting my own business, there were 3 essentials needed.

  • Commitment
  • Consistency
  • Coachability

This has been repeated time and time again by various successful business persons, regardless of whether they are online businesses or traditional bricks and mortar off-line business.   (Just by the way, having said that – every bricks and mortar business needs a web presence in this day & age!!!)

I know this advice has been invaluable.

I went through a phase where I flitted around, not quite knowing exactly what I wanted or how to move forward.   I realized that it was unwise (as had been advised by my mentors) to have a “few” things going at one time (especially when starting out) as none would get the attention and commitment they needed to have in order to grow and make a success of it.

Having done research around some business opportunities, I eventually found the business that would suit me as not only would it really help me achieve my goal but it would help me help others in the process!   This was just over 2 years ago and then I have not looked back.

Commitment according to the dictionary means “the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc”.  Commitment involves being dedicated and loyal to the cause eg your business, project, relationship, etc

I have put everything into my online business and it is rewarding me for my commitment.

If you are committed to succeeding in your business or determined to get started, really serious about starting your own online business, they I would love to hear from you.
