Who Am I …
I’m a former Registered Nurse, Clinical Trainer and university lecturer of a certain age (65+). I enjoy walking, photography, reading and writing and am a Christian in walk and talk! I enjoy helping others become computer and internet literate and also work towards being successful online with regard to starting their own business, as well as asset management and cryptocurrency investment and training. Although I reach out to all, I have a special interest in helping those in the 40 – 85+ age bracket so that they can gain the sense of achievement and enable them to work towards gaining or improving their retirement package and lifestyle. I am here to help you no matter what your age is or your level of experience.
If one has been involved in marketing – especially network marketing – it is possible one has fallen foul to some of these ….
Take action now to change your style and move your business or project to the next and more attractive, consistent, honest and realistic level…
The 4 deadly sins of network marketing include:
I speak to myself as much as to everyone. Enthusiasm can slow down and instead of regular “appearances” on social media, blog, and your advertising or team-building campaigns, you disappear from the scene for a week and come back with gusto. Disappear again for 2-3 weeks and try again to engage. This will not do anything for you or those working with you. Inconsistency will crush all the efforts of any business or project builder. Be consistent.
It is very easy to fall into this trap. When things go differently to what you had hoped for, it is easy to start the blame game. Criticizing and talking negatively about a business, an opportunity or an individual is NOT a solution because that negativity becomes part of your brand. People start seeing you as a negative person. Leaders cannot maintain a negative attitude and still expect to be known as a leader. It doesn’t work. Real leaders and those who would follow you, will in actual fact start avoiding you.
You have a choice to create a negative culture, vibe, posture or mindset — OR – you can present a problem-solving mindset that creates opportunity. You can be negative or you can be positive. That’s your choice.
HYPING UP or OVER-INFLATING YOUR PRODUCT or YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Don’t be tempted to exaggerate what your product or opportunity can and cannot do! Always be in alignment with what your company says you can claim when it comes to your product, making use of relevant disclaimers as appropriate. It will catch up with you and it will also affect your credibility, so do NOT be tempted.
DISTRIBUTORS WHO BOUNCE FROM COMPANY TO COMPANY TO COMPANY
It is really sad when people go from opportunity to opportunity because they’re literally stealing from their future. They’re actually stealing from their residual income as well as their reputation. People like this will lose followers and will find themselves no longer credible until such time as that person is ready and willing to come back, get their teeth into their opportunity, put their shoulder to the wheel and get to work!
I’ve seen this many a time … so many opportunities are simply missed or neglected because it is dressed in overalls and requires work. Work that will pay dividends if persevered with. Remember: every single company in network marketing will have problems. They are going to go through a period of time when it doesn’t have momentum or when it has to go through change. Change is difficult. So hopping from one company to another will not help. At some point or other the next company will face the same challenges. So, decide which company and product line you want to align yourself with and decide that you’re going to go through the problems with them rather than looking for an opportunity where there are no problems. There are none like that! So stop bouncing around and align yourself with a good company and build your business.
So, although this list is not by any means exhaustive, remember …
Strive to become a network marketing professional. Strive to go to the top, to have a well-planned, honest and smooth career journey, and to build something that will indeed last for a long time.
I recently read a quote which stated “Everyone wants to be successful until they see what it actually takes …”
For many the thought of any effort into building a business, making money, being successful is something they simply cannot entertain or accept. They just want things to “happen”. The truth is that without some structured effort, success will not come. This applies in all areas of life.
Of course, there is another aspect to succeeding. Some folk realize it is going to take effort/action but they cannot believe (even if they follow the blue print to success to the very letter) that it can work for them and they shoot themselves in the foot in the process.
Anyone who wants to succeed has got to be aware that it doesn’t “just happen”. If one is buying a product, programme or starting a business or project, you also HAVE to condition yourself! Get your mindset right.
I don’t know about you, but when I started out online some years ago now, there was always an element of doubt in my mind. Would this really work for me? In certain respects I could justify the doubt and because I had tried something in my very early days which didn’t work for me, I had this nagging doubt in my mind. Even when I was succeeding and seeing progress, the element of doubt would always be creeping around in the back of my mind.
That is pretty normal. If one is not seeing real results, the questions always remain. Can I really succeed?
So when an email landed in my inbox this morning, sharing a brilliant short video, I had to share it with you too.
Find out “What it Really Takes to be Successful” by Tony Robbins
Using these principles can bring massive success. So, why not grab yourself a cup of tea or coffee and a notebook and learn from one of the “Masters” of motivation and success.
If you would like further direction or 1-2-1 help getting started, simply email me and lets get on with it.
Perhaps you started a new program or a new online business or bought into an online “business in a box” and you’ve come to the point where you are saying this … “it doesn’t work for me!”
Don’t Quit … please read on … very important …
A friend and mentor shared this just recently – it is one of the most honest and down to earth posts from a friend about to quit
There is no doubt It will resonate with many people out there and if you recognise yourself in it (we all can) or you know someone who would benefit from reading it please share it. “It seems like it is all there, the dream system, everything you need, right?
So I did some digging to figure out what was missing, that one missing ingredient that caused this massive failure…..and I finally found it.
Its ME! Yep Me!”
For a whole year this person hadn’t done a thing. No solo ads. No FaceBook ads. No email follow up… Nothing, zilch, zero… they were a complete lump on a log, did nothing yet hoped for the best.
“You see there is nothing wrong with this system, the only thing wrong is me.
If you have been struggling with this system, or any system for that matter, then the problem is likely you too.
The thing that is missing is MY ACTION.
No Action = No Results. Duh.
It wasn’t the system’s fault, it was my fault. You see all these other people making sales, doing great, but others not so much. Well I will put money on it that they also took none to very little action. Now I am not saying action would have made me a millionaire over night, but I would have been closer than I am today.
So why didn’t I take any action? Well I told myself all sort of things:
I’m a slave to analysis paralysis, family issues, busy at work, focusing on eCom, no… CPA, no… bitcoin, no… MLM, no.. red-headed chihuahua breeder, no… 2-ring circus promoter…… so many excuses, so scattered, always chasing the shiny object.
Yeah this is what I told myself, but then I dug even deeper ‘cause all that is just excuses. what was the real reason I didn’t take any action?
In reality I have been buying my way through the internet looking for the so-called holy grail for several years. I have spent way more than I want to admit, maybe more than I did for my bachelors and two masters degrees combined. Opportunity after opportunity, training after training, tool after tool. Yet before the ink was dry on the payment I was looking for the next.
Why? Why would I spend tens upon tens of thousands of dollars on all these but not run some simple ads? Good question, i wish there was a Shiny Object Buyers Anonymous support group, … maybe I will start one. But I needed deep introspection, so I dug deeper…..
And I think I finally found it. Ta Da!!!!
Quite simple actually – I was riding high on hope, and protecting myself from failure.
But it isn’t quite what you are thinking. I wasn’t afraid of failure itself, but what failure meant for my dreams. You see I am an eternal optimist, I always believe things will work out in the end, I am a dreamer and see hope in my life and the world. So if I am to actually execute on these systems and trainings, and it doesn’t work, it isn’t just that it didn’t work, but it means my dreams are crushed. And there is nothing worse to an eternal optimist than crushed dreams. So I was buying on the hope that the systems and products promised, but not executing to prevent the hope from being extinguished. This was ever so evident in the fact that I bought a grand worth of solo ads, but never actually sent them. How stupid is that? I got to the point of buying hope of a great solo, but didn’t send anything for fear of it being a dream crusher.
I know it sounds stupid, it is a sickness really. But as they say in every 12 step program the first step is acknowledgement. Now that I really understand and have acknowledged the problem, I can take steps to fix it.
So I am turning off almost all emails, leaving tons of FB groups, focusing on taking action on all the systems and tools in my arsenal. Any new ideas will be tabled, until current projects are fulfilled. I will be reaching out on those solos I bought to send them to our promotions.
In conclusion. I re-state my first Statement.
The System doesn’t work for me! Because I don’t work the System.
Systems don’t fail, people do, and I did. If you are struggling look in the mirror before you blame the system”
I am sure many of you out there can identify with the story above. I certainly can. If we are honest, we all can in one or other way.
So, today I urge you to take constructive and positive action to achieve the dream you have. You can do it!
The Myth – “I can make money online without investing time, effort and/or money”
The Reality: It Takes Money To Make Money
We are still very early in the new year, 2017 and this will help you to cut through all the rubbish info out there about having a successful business / being an entrepreneur.
Recently I read a post from my friends and mentors about an extremely successful entrepreneur (whom they know personally) and who also gets the same kind of messages emails common to successful entrepreneurs. Messages like this …
“Can you give me some tips and show me exactly how to get the results you get in your business? If you could just hold me by the hand and show me what you do, I’m willing to do whatever it takes…..”
Here’s what he said (some really straight talking!!) ….
“Okay, ready for THE TRUTH? Don’t expect to be able to do what I do until you’re willing to:
Invest in your education as we have and continue to do. If one is not willing to purchase education on how to successfully market on the Internet, then one cannot expect others who are successful to invest time (their most valuable asset on the planet) in teaching one the things the products are designed to teach one….the products which people refuse to buy . If someone seriously wants results in one’s business but has no clue how to get them, … then investment in ONESELF is a must. It’s the smartest investment a human being/entrepreneur can make.
Work hard. If one is under the impression that success comes easily without any persistent hard work, then you’re in for a rude awakening this year. There is NO easy button and probably NEVER will be. If one is looking for a get rich quick scheme, there are plenty of those to choose from online but, … if it’s a long-term sustainable result being looked for, one had better be prepared to develop one’s business and marketing muscles….starting today!
Take RISK!No risk, no reward! If one is looking to make money as an entrepreneur in 2017 but unwilling to take any significant risk, then …..don’t quit the day-job because there’s unlikely to be a single entrepreneur who doesn’t take big risk to achieve their goals. This will require one to step up outside one’s comfort zone and do things one would normally NEVER dare dream of doing. If one is looking to start a legitimate online business without investing a single dime until a profit is seen ….guess what? We highly doubt a single dime of profit will ever be seen because one is approaching being in business with the mindset of an employee…. or the question has to be asked, is that person really in business at all. Maybe they’re just a “wannabe” with a hobby
This is a brilliant challenge and is absolutely true!
Now that I’ve got all that out of the way here’s my tip for you:
“You can create RESULTS or you can create EXCUSES but you cannot create both. Which will you choose to create this year?”
If you have questions or comments, get back to me. But one thing is certain … if you are serious about making a difference, you need to make the choice.
Speak again soon

We all know this … Every year there are “must-have” gifts that we rush to get our hands on.
This year, I believe, it includes items such as the new iPhone 6+ and the latest technology including smartwatches, Polaroid Snap Instant Digital Cameras and Amazon Echo Dots, etc.
Everyone tries to get hold of these or anything else they fancy online and scammers are having a field day exploiting the Christmas rush. How? They set up fake “fly-by-night” websites claiming to have these “must-have” items in stock, often offering discount prices to lure you into their net.
Thinking that this is a brilliant bargain and a type of mini Christmas miracle, you whip out your card and pay … without giving it a second thought about who you’ve just handed your hard-earned cash to. A week later, when the gift you’ve spent £200 on hasn’t arrived and the website you bought it from has suddenly disappeared from the internet, you realise what has happened!!
So here are a few tips
TIPS ON HOW TO AVOID ONLINE SHOPPING SCAMS
Plain common sense yes, but that often goes out the window in the run-up to the sadly commercialized Christmas that has all but lost its meaning anyway!
Deal only with reputable sellers
Be sure to use companies and websites that are known to you or recommended to you by folk who have purchased items there safely on previous occassions.
Never access links in unsolicited emails
This can be extremely dangerous. Type in the website address or use a search engine to find a particular site. Very often links within emails get directed to “spoof sites” – they are fake but are designed to look exactly like the reputable company’s website. In order to spot whether it is spoof or not, check website URL – it will be slightly different to the real website. Don’t go there!
Ensure payment pages are secure
Make sure there is a https: at the beginning of the URL. If it just only shows “http” then it is not secure. Additionally, a secure site usually shows a closed padlock. If it shows an open padlock, it is not secure.
Don’t pay by bank transfers or by wiring money
Use credit cards, debit cards or PayPal as these offer protection when making purchases.
Make sure your computer anti-virus software is up to date
Ensure Anti-virus updates are done prior to doing any online shopping,
Always log out of shopping websites
Ensure you log out of shopping websites once you have completed your purchase.
Keep a watch on our bank/credit card statements
Check your statements regularly and report anything you don’t recognize, any unauthorised transactions to your bank/card provider without delay
Ensure you do your due diligence
If you are thinking of shopping with a company you’ve not heard of before, make sure you check they are legitimate. Check company address, registration, etc By checking whois.com one can find out when the website was created. If it is brand new, it should ring warning bells.
Be cautious when buying designer goods
Always get proof that the products are in fact genuine before you buy. Check the official website to find a list of authorised sellers for major designer brands
Be wary of gift vouchers
Gift vouchers can be handy presents when someone is rather hard to buy for. But, they have also become a lucrative business for scammers! Once again, to avoid suffering gift card misery – be careful to only purchase them from reputable companies. If you are buying them in-store and not online, make sure to check the card for any signs of tampering.
Remember, if the offer looks too good to be true. it probably is!
Alarm bells should ring if you know items are out of stock everywhere and yet they “miraculously” appear in stock on an unfamiliar website! And If they are additionally being offered at bargain prices, then you should be doubly suspicious.
With more and more people shopping online, it is so important to take due care not to get scammed. It causes unnecessary stress even if you do manage to get your money refunded.

Walt Disney gave some valuable advice: “The way to get started is to quit talking and BEGIN DOING.”
Just recently two successful internet marketers and mentors known to me shared some valuable information which I want to share with you today.
The challenge that came and I pass on to you is … WHY IS MINDSET SO IMPORTANT?
Research has shown that the Psychology of Today’s High Achievers really has not changed much over the years.
There are 3 things that are potentially stopping you from being a high achiever:
It is what you believe (your mindset/how you think).
It is your ability to do things correctly (your skillset).
It is what you do everyday, day by day (your habits).
So, for one to become successful in business and life in general, the most effective way, is to follow today’s high achievers. Emulate them. Follow them closely. Get to know what makes them successful … understand their mindset, skillset and their habits. By doing that you will get to understand why they are high achievers.
Just take a quick look at some well-known high achievers from the past and the present.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator)
He needs no introduction. He had a few rules for success. There were two of his quotes I would like to share with you: “The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent” and “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength”
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock).
With only $7 in his pocket at age 23 he said he knew two things… “I’m broke … and one day I won’t be”. He also said: “I like to use the hard times in the past to motivate me today”. His secret to success was to “Show up and outwork anyone”. “Be consistent …. Earn respect”.
Sir Richard Branson (Virgin Companies)
“Enjoy what you’re doing. Be visible and standout. Create something you’re proud of”.
Oprah Winfrey. (The Queen of Media)
“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher” Have a “Clear sense of purpose. Make excellence your goal. Empower those around you. Be thankful for what you have”.
There are so many others I could have shared with you, but …
What do you think?
Do you think that we, the ordinary people, can learn from the psychology, the mindset of today’s high achievers?
I think so!

– If you are building your online business, you need to network/connect with others.
