Keep on dreaming?!… NOT if you want to change your future!

Dreams will remain dreams unless action is taken

Are you still just dreaming or …

Are you setting realistic goals?

that you will enjoy when you achieve your goal.

Keep asking …

* WHY you want it?
* WHAT will it give me?
* WHAT will it allow me to do?

As is often said:

  • A dream written down with a date becomes a goal
  • A goal broken down into steps and written down becomes a plan
  • A plan backed by action can make a dream come true

Sometimes one has to change direction or take a few detours along the way to get there, BUT …
NEVER QUIT.   Adjust the sails to catch the wind.

I would like to reach out to you today.   If you need help in setting a realistic goal and find out practical ways to achieve that goal, please connect with me.

Given the shaky global economic situation, there are 2 very important questions I would like you to consider…

  1. Do you think that $100 or £100 or 100 of whatever currency you use TODAY, will be able to buy the same amount of goods or services a year from now?
  2. Do you think it is possible that 1 gram of gold TODAY will have the same purchasing power in a year’s time?

Let us take a close look at the facts provided by the US Bureau of Labour Statistics as well as the Incrementum AG, Federal Reserve, St Louis, over a ten-year period.  Look closely at the buying power of $100,000 vs gold:

2005                                   2015
Currency                            $100,000                            $82,288   Buying Power
Gold                                   $100,000                            $237,583 Buying Power

Gold More than doubled its value and buying power, whilst currency shrank!

Think for a moment how currency devaluation will impact your savings, your pension, your investments.

And by the way, this trend is NOT going to stop … in fact leaders in investment and financial sectors are warning of an imminent financial crash … and it is not a case of “if” but rather “when” it is going to happen.   What is causing this?   Webster’s Dictionary states that “Inflation … is a steady rise in the level of prices related to an increased volume of available money and credit, resulting in a loss of value of currency”.

But how … what … why???

Alan Greenspan, chairman of the Federal Reserve (1987-2006), stated the following: “In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation of wealth. There is no safe store of value.”    Economist and father of Keynesian Economics, John Maynard Keynes, said: “By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens”.

Inflation … this is what it looks like in practical terms …

Basket comparison 2

What about this?

Look at the comparison between 1971 and now ...

In 1971 1 gm of gold could buy around 5 loaves of bread, whereas NOW it would be able to purchase around 20+ loaves.

Compare this  with the purchase pow
er of the US dollar.   In 1971 one would have been able to purchase about 4 loaves of bread with $1.   NOW …. the same amount of
money will buy you not even a half a loaf of bread.

People all over the world are getting worried about the economy. Who can blame them?

Given the global situation, one needs to ask oneself if there is a way to plan for the future.

Financially speaking, do you have a plan in place to protect not only yourself, but your loved ones too? Would you like to know how to protect any assets you have and/or to work towards building something for the future?

Some time back Tom Corley researched and then wrote an excellent article (and a book) about the differing habits between the poor and the rich.   There is a staggering difference between the habits of the two groups.   So much one can learn from.

Just recently published the article again … 16 Rich Habits.    I have put a copy of this article on this site for a limited period of time only.

You will be amazed at the tips one picks up from this article.  VERY practical and timely.    Practical tips of how to live within your means, the value of reading and/or listening to audio books daily, know your purpose in life, controlling emotions, and so much more.

Take a look now:

Absolutely invaluable information.   The differences between rich and poor appear simple—sometimes almost intuitive—but nonetheless very significant. Once you have read the article, try to aim to take up these habits, and you are virtually guaranteed to become better off.

alarmclockIf you are like most people, waking up to the sound of the Alarm Clock can be pure torture (especially on a Monday morning!!).  In fact, we’d prefer to throw it out the window or sell the alarm clock to a neighbour.

The alarm clock means we have to get up, leave our home and family and rush off to work where a dream-destroying boss is going to drain the life out of us to achieve their dream.    Not only that … it means we have to face the nightmarish commute to work and back – whether by road, rail or whatever. When we arrive back home we are totally exhausted and have time for little else.  The next day … the same thing over again.

Why not start the countdown towards “firing your boss” (as the saying goes!) and work towards starting a new life?    If you do not like what you do, you need to change it.New_MAP_ad

Is your email inbox overflowing and driving you mad?

There surely cannot be a single person on this planet who has an email account that hasn’t had this problem at one time or another (if not all the time!).

Whilst email is a fantastic form of communication, managing your emails can be a pain and kill productivity!  Because we, in this day and age, need email (it is part of normal life) and because we cannot control when someone sends us emails or in what format their messages will come, we have to find a way to “manage” our emails and let email be the powerful tool it is and not something that bogs one down and wastes time.

Here are 5 suggestions how you can manage your inbox:

  1. Unsubscribe from all unnecessary or duplicate emails
How many Newsletters to get coming to your inbox on a daily basis?  If anything like me … plenty!   Do you get to reading them all?   Most likely not!
This is one of the great time-wasters.    . Sifting through promotional emails and unread newsletters kills productivity!  If you’re not reading them, if they are wasting your time, unsubscribe without delay.   Get rid of the clutter!
  2. Turn off the email notifications
Distractions come from all sides, so take control over those you can prevent!
Turn off all email notifications – on your computer as well as your smartphone. We are humans are curious beings and when something flashes or pings, your brain tells you:  “quick, take a look, it may be important”.   Know the feeling.   Turn off those notifications and keep your focus!
  3. Establish a routine for checking emails
Since you won’t be having email notifications distracting you all day long, set aside specific times of day to check your emails.  For example 3 or 5 times per day.   You decide what times will work best for you.   Set aside, for example, 20-30 minutes in the morning, early afternoon & evening to work through the new emails & plan any actions that may be required as a result.
See how that goes and adjust timing as needed and to suit YOU and to help you to be as productive as possible.
  4. Learn to make quick decisions
Having got yourself organized as per the above 3 points, it is important to make quick decisions regarding the emails you receive.  There are basically 4 categories when dealing with email messages:
    – Respond
    – Delete
    – Flag to follow-up
    – File
When using your routine time-frames (as per 3 above), deal with the quick-action emails in the first instance (these usually fall into the File or Delete category). Then move on to emails that require a fraction more of your time – 1-2 minutes.   Lastly, flag emails that need further / more detailed attention. These can be dealt with later when there is a bit more time or schedule them into your “to do” list so that they do not get overlooked.
  5. Use the email system’s rules to make life easier – use them wisely
Using pre-set rules provided in your email system, can save you a lot of time, BUT you need to set it up carefully and wisely.  Examples of such automated actions for in-coming emails include filing, deleting and flagging as well as setting up auto-responders and out-of-office messages, to mention but a few. Experiment with them and see what works best for you.

Obviously, we all have personal preferences and thus it is a case of seeing what system works best for us as individuals.  If you want to get email working for you  and not the other way around, invest  a bit of time and energy in getting your email system sorted.   It will be worth every second you’ll save in the long term (and your sanity too!).

Guess who else struggled with consistency?

People from all walks of life experience this problem at one point or another.   Some great leaders and sports persons that I can think of found that it can be difficult to be consistent.  But … in order to succeed, no matter if it is your business, career, sport, health and fitness, you need to be consistent.

Consistency involves regularity, being constant and stability.

Someone once said that consistency builds trust.   I agree.

Roger Federer said he had struggled with consistency early in his career.  But, look at him now, he is one of the most consistent and successful tennis players around.  Arsene Wenger one said: “When you look at people who are successful, you will find that they aren’t  the people who are motivated, but who have consistency in their motivation”.  Consistently motivated to be a success in whatever they do. Reaching their dreams, their goals.

Think about it – if your goal is to become fitter and you’ve neglected yourself for a good number of years.  One or two sessions at the local gym now and again will not produce the desired outcome!  You would need to commit to attending the gym regularly/consistently until you achieve your goal.  Stopping & starting will not get the desired result.

Millard Drexler one said: “People like consistency.  Whether it’s a store or a restaurant, they want to come in and see what you are famous for”

If you are trying to build your business – be it online or bricks & mortar – CONSISTENCY is vital.   What if you found a brand new little coffee shop in your area and they really had a fabulous range of coffee and other hot drinks along with home-baked rolls and out of the ordinary sandwiches and cakes, etc.  Cosy atmosphere and free wi-fi –  just a great place to be.  That would be brilliant.  But what if you wanted to pop in after the school-run or on a busy Saturday morning and the place was closed with a notice.  “Back again tomorrow” or “back in an hour”.  Or even if they were open but did not provide the products or service they were advertising, people would lose interest. Their reputation would falter and their business would not succeed.
If you have an online business, people have signed up to your newsletter or mailing list because they are interested in your service or product.   If you do not have regular follow-up by means of news, special offers, helpful hints and tips, something of value, they will lose interest.   Consistent marketing, consistently providing value is a must.
It isn’t easy, but it can be done and must be our modus operandi.   If we are committed to reaching our goal and consistent in striving to achieve it, we will succeed.

To sum up for now, to be successful online or any project, you need to be committed, consistent and coachable.   To find out more about coachability and get resources that will help you, subscribe to this blog and be sure not to miss important and helpful info

Make today YOUR Turning Point!

Can you believe it … we’re at the starting line of a brand NEW YEAR!

Darren Hardy, a popular and excellent motivational speaker and publisher/owner of Success Magazine, was so inspiring in his post and video today, I simply had to share some nuggets and challenges with you (as they express my sentiments exactly)!

He said “Instead of simply letting 2015 bleed into 2016 and limp into 2017…”, and suggested to work out a way to start “winning” this year.

If you are determined to make 2016 a year of change and achievement, you need to be willing to change your thinking.  You need to be willing to take action and do things differently.

Watch the video by Darren and then do the brief but potentially life-changing activity below.

If you are serious about changing your life and redesign your life, get started today!!

Take Action Now & make TODAY your TURNING POINT:

As per Darren’s guidelines –  Get a piece of paper and write this down (say it aloud for further resolve):

This year is my turning point.
From this moment forward, I am taking consistent action to change my life.
Starting right now, life will never be the same.”

He further suggests that you then post this somewhere that will be visible to you EVERY MORNING.

Read it every day – more than once a day – get focused and take the consistent action needed.

Why not Post the picture of your declaration online and encourage others to join you in changing their lives.

Work on how you will achieve this (more ideas re this in further blog posts).

Yes, it does take courage but you CAN do it!

Sign up for my blog post notifications to make sure you do not miss out

A happy, prosperous & successful year to you!

Why? Why? Why? …

Are you in the Internet Marketing Business or thinking of getting started?    Are you in any other business online or offline?

Then I need to ask you: “What is your goal?

Even more importantly  …. What is your “Why?”

Without knowing your “Why?” you will find it difficult to focus and achieve your goal.

If you have no idea why you are in this business or thinking of starting, stop right now and take time to work out your “Why”.

What do you want to achieve?
Why do you want to achieve it?

Are you simply wanting to be successful … whyWhy do you want to be?
Do you need to make provision for your future?
Are you unable to work in a hands-on job due to illness or caring for someone?
Finding it difficult to cope financially?

I haven’t even scratched the surface of the possible reasons you may have.   BUT ONE THING is very certainknowing your why will help you focus and drive you to the place you want to be.

Someone recently described not knowing your why as someone getting into their car, sitting there and having no idea where they want to go or why they got into the car in the first place.   One is bound to get nowhere!

Knowing your “why” will help you set a realistic goal and will help you stay focused even when the going gets tough!!

If you need help setting goals or working out your “why”, contact me via the form below and I’ll be happy to provide additional info and assistance.

To your success

Building your own profitable business online … is Blogging important?

This is the second in the series of “How to build a profitable business online

On Monday we looked at the prospect of building a profitable business online and we noted that one is generally told (roughly speaking) one needs three things:
1) A Blog
2) An AutoResponder
3) And products to sell (preferably without holding inventory).

But the question is, does everyone know exactly what all this means?  For those reading this and know the basics, there is nothing like a bit of “revision”.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with building a business online and what it takes, please read on!  Today we’ll look at Blogging!

What is a blog?
A blog is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and is, as it were, a web log – or blog.  It is a website consisting of entries (also called posts) which appear in reverse chronological order, with the most recent entry appearing first (very similar in format to a daily journal).  Blogs typically include various features such as comments and links which help to increase user interactivity. Blogs are created using specific publishing software (for example WordPress – what I am using for this blog & Blogger, etc – more about that in a later blog)

Is blogging important?
Just recently I watched a video by an Entrepreneur who has done exceptionally well.  He literally started with virtually nothing (financially) and is now earning a steady and substantial income.  How did he do this?  One of the most important things he did was to blog, blog & blog!!

He is not the only one and if you want to grow your business and succeed with your online or traditional business – you need to blog, blog, blog!

Even if you have a website, it is important to have a blog as well.  Why?

website is static.  A blog is dynamic – it has up-to-date info and encourages interaction.

Blogs encourage 2-way communication with one’s core audience.
(Search engines love them – yes you guessed it, more about search engines to follow)
Blogs enable one to put out several pieces of “bait” to draw your reader’s attention and provide them with information they are looking for.  Answers to the questions they have.

Websites are a so-called “stand alone” in one sense and are necessary.

Blogs on the other hand provide the more personalized and interactive “stuff”.

website takes longer to “build”, whereas blogs are fast to set up and you can have multiple blogs.

The blog is there to get your message out faster   Whether it is for your business, church, charity or whatever – it can provide specific and relevant info.

Better Blogs make use of articles, videos and images …. (not necessarily altogether)

The subject of blogging is incredibly interesting and important if you are serious about starting or growing your business – whether it is the traditional bricks and mortar or your online business – and a must have.

If you are interested in learning more about effective blogging and building your own business, send me a direct message via FaceBook: or contact me via the form below.

Be sure to subscribe to my blog (top right-hand side of this page) so that you don’t miss out on further posts that will help you build a profitable business online.
