Use Failure and Setbacks as Stepping Stones to Success

Abraham Lincoln once said that his great concern was not whether one has failed, but whether one is content with one’s failure.

Failure should not stop you on your road to success. Use “failures” as stepping stones to success. Failures are not the end product. They help one look for another way, a better way.

Perhaps it is that you need to invest in yourself and improve your skill sets. But don’t be content with failure. Take action. Move forward.

Abraham Lincoln’s well-known quote has much value:
“Give me 6 hours to chop down a tree and I’ll spend the first 4 hours sharpening the axe”.

Take the action needed but … once you’ve sharpened the axe, move forward.

What are ways you can “sharpen your axe”?

  • Define your “why” – see some examples
Why do you want to start your internet business?
Why do want to lose weight?
Why do you need to earn extra money?
  • Take time to set yourself a realistic goal (but don’t underestimate yourself)
Need help setting goals?   Take a look at my previous articles on goal setting
  • Write down a daily plan of action to work towards achieving your goal/s
    For example:
    – Spend time daily on Personal Development –  Always  be learning and growing
    Learn something new daily
Put what you learn into practice
    – If you are building your online business, you need to network/connect with others.
  • Learn from and network with those people who have achieved what YOU want to achieve.

In future posts, I will be dealing with some of these points in more detail.

Any questions or comments are most welcome

Keep on dreaming?!… NOT if you want to change your future!

Dreams will remain dreams unless action is taken

Are you still just dreaming or …

Are you setting realistic goals?

Look for the END RESULT, the ULTIMATE BENEFIT
that you will enjoy when you achieve your goal.

Keep asking …

* WHY you want it?
* WHAT will it give me?
* WHAT will it allow me to do?

PUT YOUR PLAN into ACTION today

As is often said:

  • A dream written down with a date becomes a goal
  • A goal broken down into steps and written down becomes a plan
  • A plan backed by action can make a dream come true

Sometimes one has to change direction or take a few detours along the way to get there, BUT …
NEVER QUIT.   Adjust the sails to catch the wind.

I would like to reach out to you today.   If you need help in setting a realistic goal and find out practical ways to achieve that goal, please connect with me.

IS INFLATION EATING AWAY YOUR SAVINGS AND PENSION … ?

Given the shaky global economic situation, there are 2 very important questions I would like you to consider…

  1. Do you think that $100 or £100 or 100 of whatever currency you use TODAY, will be able to buy the same amount of goods or services a year from now?
  2. Do you think it is possible that 1 gram of gold TODAY will have the same purchasing power in a year’s time?

Let us take a close look at the facts provided by the US Bureau of Labour Statistics as well as the Incrementum AG, Federal Reserve, St Louis, over a ten-year period.  Look closely at the buying power of $100,000 vs gold:

2005                                   2015
Currency                            $100,000                            $82,288   Buying Power
Gold                                   $100,000                            $237,583 Buying Power

Gold More than doubled its value and buying power, whilst currency shrank!

Think for a moment how currency devaluation will impact your savings, your pension, your investments.

And by the way, this trend is NOT going to stop … in fact leaders in investment and financial sectors are warning of an imminent financial crash … and it is not a case of “if” but rather “when” it is going to happen.   What is causing this?   Webster’s Dictionary states that “Inflation … is a steady rise in the level of prices related to an increased volume of available money and credit, resulting in a loss of value of currency”.

But how … what … why???

Alan Greenspan, chairman of the Federal Reserve (1987-2006), stated the following: “In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation of wealth. There is no safe store of value.”    Economist and father of Keynesian Economics, John Maynard Keynes, said: “By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens”.

Inflation … this is what it looks like in practical terms …

Basket comparison 2

What about this?

Look at the comparison between 1971 and now ...

In 1971 1 gm of gold could buy around 5 loaves of bread, whereas NOW it would be able to purchase around 20+ loaves.

Compare this  with the purchase pow
er of the US dollar.   In 1971 one would have been able to purchase about 4 loaves of bread with $1.   NOW …. the same amount of
money will buy you not even a half a loaf of bread.

People all over the world are getting worried about the economy. Who can blame them?

Given the global situation, one needs to ask oneself if there is a way to plan for the future.

Financially speaking, do you have a plan in place to protect not only yourself, but your loved ones too? Would you like to know how to protect any assets you have and/or to work towards building something for the future?

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR FUTURE!

Some time back Tom Corley researched and then wrote an excellent article (and a book) about the differing habits between the poor and the rich.   There is a staggering difference between the habits of the two groups.   So much one can learn from.

Just recently Success.com published the article again … 16 Rich Habits.    I have put a copy of this article on this site for a limited period of time only.

You will be amazed at the tips one picks up from this article.  VERY practical and timely.    Practical tips of how to live within your means, the value of reading and/or listening to audio books daily, know your purpose in life, controlling emotions, and so much more.

Take a look now:  http://workwithdayashton.com/16-rich-habits/

Absolutely invaluable information.   The differences between rich and poor appear simple—sometimes almost intuitive—but nonetheless very significant. Once you have read the article, try to aim to take up these habits, and you are virtually guaranteed to become better off.

DO YOU LOVE WAKING UP TO THE SOUND OF THE ALARM CLOCK?

alarmclockIf you are like most people, waking up to the sound of the Alarm Clock can be pure torture (especially on a Monday morning!!).  In fact, we’d prefer to throw it out the window or sell the alarm clock to a neighbour.

Why?

The alarm clock means we have to get up, leave our home and family and rush off to work where a dream-destroying boss is going to drain the life out of us to achieve their dream.    Not only that … it means we have to face the nightmarish commute to work and back – whether by road, rail or whatever. When we arrive back home we are totally exhausted and have time for little else.  The next day … the same thing over again.

Why not start the countdown towards “firing your boss” (as the saying goes!) and work towards starting a new life?    If you do not like what you do, you need to change it.New_MAP_ad

There are a number of opportunities out there, but do your due diligence and make sure you choose the right one.

So, if you want to start earning money online part-time until you have earned enough to go fulltime and get rid of the alarm clock syndrome, subscribe to my blog post and make sure you get the next post which will help you take more steps in the right direction.

WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE?

WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE?

This week marks one year since I left my virtually fulltime job where I would be tied to my computer and headphones for 8-hour shifts providing health advice till it was coming out of my ears.

NOW …

I’m doing what I love.

My health has improved and I see the business opportunity I am in as a real God-send.

I’m making money every 20 minutes (even when I’m asleep).

I do not have to ask anyone’s permission to take time off.

I am now my own boss and really enjoy what I am doing – working at home or away.

If you want to know what enabled me to change my lifestyle, send me a PM today

Guess who else struggled with consistency?

People from all walks of life experience this problem at one point or another.   Some great leaders and sports persons that I can think of found that it can be difficult to be consistent.  But … in order to succeed, no matter if it is your business, career, sport, health and fitness, you need to be consistent.

Consistency involves regularity, being constant and stability.

Someone once said that consistency builds trust.   I agree.

Roger Federer said he had struggled with consistency early in his career.  But, look at him now, he is one of the most consistent and successful tennis players around.  Arsene Wenger one said: “When you look at people who are successful, you will find that they aren’t  the people who are motivated, but who have consistency in their motivation”.  Consistently motivated to be a success in whatever they do. Reaching their dreams, their goals.

Think about it – if your goal is to become fitter and you’ve neglected yourself for a good number of years.  One or two sessions at the local gym now and again will not produce the desired outcome!  You would need to commit to attending the gym regularly/consistently until you achieve your goal.  Stopping & starting will not get the desired result.

Millard Drexler one said: “People like consistency.  Whether it’s a store or a restaurant, they want to come in and see what you are famous for”

If you are trying to build your business – be it online or bricks & mortar – CONSISTENCY is vital.   What if you found a brand new little coffee shop in your area and they really had a fabulous range of coffee and other hot drinks along with home-baked rolls and out of the ordinary sandwiches and cakes, etc.  Cosy atmosphere and free wi-fi –  just a great place to be.  That would be brilliant.  But what if you wanted to pop in after the school-run or on a busy Saturday morning and the place was closed with a notice.  “Back again tomorrow” or “back in an hour”.  Or even if they were open but did not provide the products or service they were advertising, people would lose interest. Their reputation would falter and their business would not succeed.
If you have an online business, people have signed up to your newsletter or mailing list because they are interested in your service or product.   If you do not have regular follow-up by means of news, special offers, helpful hints and tips, something of value, they will lose interest.   Consistent marketing, consistently providing value is a must.
It isn’t easy, but it can be done and must be our modus operandi.   If we are committed to reaching our goal and consistent in striving to achieve it, we will succeed.

To sum up for now, to be successful online or any project, you need to be committed, consistent and coachable.   To find out more about coachability and get resources that will help you, subscribe to this blog and be sure not to miss important and helpful info

How committed are you?

Some years ago, when I first started my search to establish my own online business  and make a liveable income from it, more than one of my mentors stressed that if I was serious about starting my own business, there were 3 essentials needed.

  • Commitment
  • Consistency
  • Coachability

This has been repeated time and time again by various successful business persons, regardless of whether they are online businesses or traditional bricks and mortar off-line business.   (Just by the way, having said that – every bricks and mortar business needs a web presence in this day & age!!!)

I know this advice has been invaluable.

I went through a phase where I flitted around, not quite knowing exactly what I wanted or how to move forward.   I realized that it was unwise (as had been advised by my mentors) to have a “few” things going at one time (especially when starting out) as none would get the attention and commitment they needed to have in order to grow and make a success of it.

Having done research around some business opportunities, I eventually found the business that would suit me as not only would it really help me achieve my goal but it would help me help others in the process!   This was just over 2 years ago and then I have not looked back.

Commitment according to the dictionary means “the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc”.  Commitment involves being dedicated and loyal to the cause eg your business, project, relationship, etc

I have put everything into my online business and it is rewarding me for my commitment.

If you are committed to succeeding in your business or determined to get started, really serious about starting your own online business, they I would love to hear from you.

3 Essentials to Success in your Business

Do you want to be successful in your online business?   There are 3 basic things you need to be ensure you are.

Recently I attended an entrepreneurial business event in London.  It was inspiring!

There were so many folk from all walks of life who shared how they had progressed and been successful in their online business.  The particular business they are in is the same I am involved in.

It has and is changing their lives as it is mine.  Some of those that shared their testimonials have struggled for years to make a success of an online business but have failed.   Since starting their own business with this incredibly straight forward opportunity (growing fast and very secure long-term business plans in place), they have not looked back.

So what are the 3 ingredients (all of which the folk referred to above have put into practice).

These 3 essential parts of success have been instilled in me by the excellent mentors I have had over the years.

If you need guidance or help starting your own online business or moving forward, why not contact me. You might call me crazy but I do really find a great deal of satisfaction in others achieving success.

And this is possible if you are:

  • Committed
  • Consistent
  • Coachable

How I managed to retire without a full state pension

It has been just over a year since I last worked for an employer. Officially I retired from that job during February 2015 but due to illness at the time was not able to work beyond 26 December 2014.

How have I managed since then? I do not have a full pension due to moving to the UK late in life?

If it wasn’t for God’s provision of my online business started in 2014 part-time where I make money every single day, I do not know what would have happened. I now manage my own business and work from home.  My business has enabled me to withdraw money as and when I need it to supplement my pension.

If you would like to know more about this, I’d love to tell you about it. It is so simple to get started.   Send me a Private Message today OR follow this link
